Gerry McIvor’s Bio

Gerry McIvor is a lifelong resident of Midland, Michigan, and has been faithfully serving as the Programs Director at MCFOAR since 2013. A devoted Christian and follower of Christ for over 25 years, Gerry is guided by his faith in all aspects of his life and ministry. He has been an active member of Christian Celebration Center in Midland for 17 years.

Gerry’s journey in working with former offenders began with jail ministry in the Midland County Correctional Facility, where he shared his faith and provided one-on-one mentorship to incarcerated men. His unique life experience, including a difficult childhood and time spent living on the streets, gives him a deep understanding of the challenges many clients face. He approaches his work with compassion, encouragement, and a strong belief that real transformation begins with God.

Professionally, Gerry brings more than 15 years of experience in factory, restaurant, construction, and management roles. He previously worked for Ashland Oil, a Fortune 500 company, where he served as a trainer and oversaw operations across 13 store locations.

Gerry is a proud U.S. Army veteran and has trade experience through the Local 1098 Laborers and Local 85 Plumbers Unions. He has also completed some college and continues to pursue personal and spiritual growth.

He has been married to his wife for over 21 years. Together, they are blessed with four adult children, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Gerry attributes every step of his journey to the grace of God. His life and service are a testament to redemption, purpose, and unwavering faith in God’s plan.
