Rob Worsley is the Executive Director and Founder of Midland Community Former Offenders Advocacy and Rehabilitation (MCFOAR), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and empowering formerly incarcerated individuals as they reintegrate into society. A lifelong resident of the Midland community and a U.S. Army veteran (82nd Airborne Division), Rob brings a deeply personal and compassionate perspective to his work, rooted in both lived experience and professional expertise.
Growing up in a challenging and unstable home environment, Rob developed an early understanding of hardship, resilience, and the importance of community. These personal experiences have shaped his lifelong commitment to serving those who face significant barriers and have often been overlooked by society.
Rob served 25 years with the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, retiring as a Jail Administrator, and also spent six and a half years with the Michigan Department of Corrections, including roles as a Corrections Officer and a Michigan Prisoner Reentry Initiative (MPRI) Resource Specialist. These roles provided him with firsthand knowledge of the criminal justice system and deepened his understanding of the critical needs of returning citizens.
In January 2013, Rob founded MCFOAR in response to what he saw as a spiritual and practical calling to serve former offenders in his community. Under his leadership, MCFOAR has grown into a trusted resource, offering mentorship, support services, and advocacy with a mission firmly grounded in faith and restoration.
Rob is a devout Christian and active member of Midland Nazarene Church. He and his wife Julie have three children and nine grandchildren. Rob credits all of his work and accomplishments to God’s grace, stating that doing this work is the most gratifying, humbling, and fulfilling mission of his life.
